There's more than a hint of the manor-born. Pass through sturdy red gates, leaving the village behind. This immaculate 400 year old family home is carefully tended and much loved.
It overflows with portraits and delicious antiques... propped against the Clementi piano is a Chinese bowl used to bath baby, en route home from India. The grand old Drawing Room has cosy chaises- longues and shiny brasses, and a wood-burner. Alongside a library (5,000 books) is the rich red Dining Room: magic in winter, flung open in summer.
The farmhouse-style Kitchen is wonderfully equipped, a hamper of local delights awaits. Bathrooms are big and spotless, (‘Great Tom’ has a Victorian roll top bath), bedrooms warm and luxurious, with garden views and tapestry touches. The 'Pump Room' has a 'Princess and the Pea' four-poster; ‘Pooh’s Corner’ on the landing has a couple of sofa beds.
Stride out over 22 acres past the ha ha, the roses and the walled vegetable garden – lovingly tended under the inspirational Landshare scheme. Secluded seating in the gardens lends itself to contemplation or reading a good book.. How about Archery, Falconry, an Owl Prowl or maybe a carriage ride across the Somerset Levels…..the possibilities are endless in this green oasis. Take to the air in a hot air balloon and enjoy the stunning scenery from the skies! Located in the pretty village of Cossington, on the edge of the Polden Hills, between Glastonbury and Bridgwater, just 5.5 kms from the M5 motorway. Close to Wells and Cheddar.
