Conwy Valley, North Wales

We have Eight wonderful cottages and houses on the Bodnant Estate (near Conwy, North Wales), a strikingly beautiful private estate set in hilly and wooded countryside in the lower reaches of the Conwy Valley. Old stone houses, cottages and barns have been traditionally restored and furnished comfortably and stylishly as holiday lets. Stay in one of them, and enjoy wandering on the many miles of private paths through woods and fields on the estate, with spectacular views across to Snowdonia and the Irish Sea. There are mountains, lakes, oak and beech forests – above all, peace and tranquility.

Visit spectacular Bodnant Garden, now owned by the National Trust (open between about late February and mid November). Only about 1 to 3 miles walking distance from the cottages, it is world famous for its laburnum arch, grand Italianate terraces, streams, waterfalls and views, and its National Collections of plants, including rhododendrons and magnolias. You can purchase unusual shrubs and other plants from the Bodnant Garden Centre, where there is also the Bodnant Farm Shop.

The estate provides an ideal base for exploring the magnificent scenery and many attractions and activities offered by North Wales. Nearby are an elegant seaside resort (Llandudno); sandy beaches (Colwyn Bay and Penmaenmawr); a medieval walled town (Conwy); theatres (Llandudno and Mold); and numerous castles (Conwy, Caernarvon, Beaumaris, Harlech, Dolwydellan, Penrhyn) and houses (Gwydir, Plas Newydd, Plas Mawr). Within striking distance is Snowdonia National Park, with a wealth of outdoor activities (walking, climbing, sea kayaking, fishing, etc.). Whatever your tastes and interests, you would be assured of an unforgettable holiday.
