Lodge Cottage is a 500-year-old traditional English country cottage with a boutique charm. This historic cottage is bursting at the seams with character and original features, from mullion windows to cruck beams, inglenook fireplaces to beautifully exposed stone walls. Elegant furnishings and modern luxuries set the tone for an indulgent escape to the country. Spending time with family and friends is at the forefront of this homestay property, as five individually and thoughtfully curated bedrooms accommodate up to nine guests. A perfectly equipped country kitchen, separate dining room with 10-seater dining table, and a cosy lounge with log burner provide plentiful space for everyone. There's also a private garden, inner courtyard, and driveway for parking off-road, great during the busy summer and festive periods when Castleton is bustling with visitors. The cottage has a fantastic location just a minute's walk from the pubs, restaurants, and shops of Castleton. The ruins of Peveril Castle is a short (but steep) walk away while the nearby Peak Cavern makes for a unique visit underground. If you're feeling more energetic, hiking to the summit of Mam Tor is a spectacular way to spend a few hours. Finish off the day's adventure with fish & chips from the local chip shop just two minutes from the cottage before relaxing in front of a log burner and chilling out to complimentary Netlix on our smart TV, and maybe a soak in our luxurious full copper bathtub. Two small well-behaved dogs are welcome at Lodge Cottage. We have an outdoor dog shower to clean up after a muddy walk.

I'm Lucy, the owner of Swallow Cottage and Lodge Cottage, two characterful cottages in the beautiful Peak District. I'm obsessed about all things interiors and nature, so having the cottages has been the perfect opportunity to explore my passions and share them with our guests. My aim is to provide a gorgeous backdrop for your holiday and local knowledge that will help you get the most out of your trip to the Peak District. If I'm not working on making our cottages perfect for guests, or spending time with my family, you'll find me hiking in the mountains- or curled up with a good book!
