Historic coastal Estate in Snowdonia National Park

The Llanfendigaid Estate was previously owned by the Nanney-Wynn family and their forebears since the earliest records began in AD 1241. It occupies one of the most attractive stretches of the Welsh coastline at the southern end of the Snowdonia National Park close to the sea.

The facilities include a 28' x 14' indoor heated swimming pool and an outdoor table tennis table in a garden building together with access to one of the more secluded beaches in the area and the current owner, William Nanney-Wynn Garton-Jones, has collected together artefacts and paintings owned by the family over several centuries to help give guests a truly memorable Welsh holiday experience. All properties have barbecue facilities.

Llanfendigaid, a Grade II* listed family home, sleeps 17 + 2 in cots in 9 bedrooms and is set in an acre of lovely wooded gardens. It is surrounded by a further three acres of shared grounds and magnificent views of beautiful scenery. It was originally built before the 13th century and renovated to its present design in 1746.

The interior has been more recently improved whilst retaining its character; it boasts painted panelled walls, antiques, fine family portraits and a number of interesting items collected during travels around the world over the last 200 years. The history of the house and family is documented for visitors to read.

Close, but not intrusively so to Llanfendigaid, Dove & Stable Cottages share its attributes as far as location goes and both sleep 4 + 1 in a cot in 2 bedrooms. Dove Cottage is a pretty ‘upside down’ stone barn conversion with the living accommodation above the bedrooms whilst Stable Cottage is a recently renovated chauffeur's cottage at the other end of the same block and is heated by LPG central heating and the large woodburner.

On the other side of the lane near the pool is The Cow Shed which sleeps 6 + 1 in a cot in 3 bedrooms. This property is single storey with all facilities easily reachable.

Excellent opportunities abound nearby for walking, golf, sailing, bird watching, fishing, climbing and cycling. Nearby Tywyn (5 miles) has a swimming pool, a sand and shingle beach and is the terminal of the Talyllyn Railway, one of the famous 'Little Trains of Wales'. Aberdyfi (7 miles) has a first rate golf course, excellent sailing, good pubs and 5 miles of golden sand and dunes. We can arrange full or partial catering if required and also Spa Treatments and a Nanny service. Dogs are only allowed in Stable Cottage and The Cow Shed and their gardens.
