Norfolk is such a year round destination – and being the combined warmest and driest county in the UK – there is always something for visitors to enjoy. Here’s a taster of what’s going on in Norfolk in Spooktacular October.

FOOD & DRINK FESTIVAL

We have fantastic local produce in Norfolk (and we love to eat and drink it too) so you can enjoy it too at the Norfolk Food & Drink Festival and enjoy hundreds of individual promotions and events. There’s Cromer Crabs, homemade pork pies, fabulous cheeses and lots of local real ale breweries too (hic!)

MURDER MYSTERY EVENING ON A STEAM TRAIN

11th October – Take a trip on the Full size steam railway of the Poppy Line for a Murder Mystery Evening. You will need your best sleuthing skills in between enjoying a full three course meal on your journey steaming through the famous countryside of the Poppylands.

WALK A NORFOLK MOUNTAIN

5th October – Walk a Norfolk Mountain.. Yes, it’s not such a flat county after all! Join the rangers around the historic National Trust property of Felbrigg Hall on this circular walk that covers 1200 ft of incline. Lunch is included in the event over fabulous scenery.

HALF TERM FUN & FROLICS

And for families at half term there are stacks of things to enjoy:

BeWILDerwood is the popular adventure playground with zip wires and strange creatures in a woodland setting and there will be glowing lantern and light parades, bonfires, puppet parades and more. http://www.bewilderwood.co.uk/

Join the Bure Valley Railway bear and get free train rides for children this week, along with other spooky goings on. http://www.bvrw.co.uk/

And the Poppy Line Full size steam railway at Sheringham has ghoulies and ghosties and if you are brave enough you can enter the Ghostly Grotto.. the haunt of witches, wizards and shuddering spiders.

25-26th October try the Real Halloween at Holt Hall. A weekend packed with workshops including Magic Wands, Witch & Wizard training and making lanterns to name just a few. There will also be Conker Championships, Apple Bobbing, Parsnip Skittles and a story by candlelight.. Magic! http://www.fairylandtrust.org/
