Christmas at Chatsworth House
Share some Christmas cheer at Chatsworth. From 8 November 2014 the house is transformed as the decorated lower floors of the house get everyone in the festive spirit. This year’s theme is Alice’s Wonderland. Head out on a magical journey encountering the Mad Hatter’s tea party, the game of croquet, ‘drink me’ bottles and ‘eat me’ cake. There is even the opportunity for you to get into character by dressing up in Alice in Wonderland themed costumes.
Bakewell Christmas Market 29th-30th November
Visitors are welcomed to this beautiful town and its traditional English Christmas Market, where you can enjoy cultural seasonal entertainment and stroll around the many festive stalls nestled within the beautiful streets and marketplace – the famous Bakewell Farmers Market will also be open this weekend
Fine Dining in the Peak District
There are many fine restaurants in the area. Fischers of Baslow Hall is a particular favourite. At Fischers you can experience a relaxed, cosy atmosphere with the open log fire and the very best of winter cooking. They prefer to cook their normal styles of menus based on seasonal ingredients with a hint of festive touches where appropriate. The menus throughout December will feature game and other seasonal dishes… which is why they have a Michelin Star and were voted 54 in the Sunday Times top 100 restaurants.
Carol Concerts… with a difference.
Everyone enjoys a good Carol Concert, but how about the setting of a Peak District Cavern as a venue! There are concerts all through December. The setting is magical, as the caverns are decorated with fairy lights and Christmas trees.
Just venture out and enjoy the fresh, crisp Peak District Air…
What could be better than to explore the spectacular scenery of the Peak District your favourite way – walking, cycling, caving, rock-climbing, sailing or even hang-gliding! Visit top attractions – Chatsworth, Alton Towers, Haddon Hall. Join in the festive celebrations – a traditional Panto at Buxton Opera house, visit the pretty villages beautifully decorated for Christmas. Or just escape – eat well, sleep well and enjoy the views!
