A stylish rural escape in Cornwall

Benallack Barn is a beautiful stone farm complex, dating partly from 1600, nestling in glorious countryside near the historic village of Grampound in mid Cornwall and perfectly located between the north and south coasts. Tucked away down a long private lane, situated in three acres of beautiful gardens and surrounded by fields and woods, the barn is the perfect retreat for people seeking peace and quiet, yet easy access to all corners of the county.

As well as the owners' home, there are two self catering cottages, each sleeping two, named for their use when Benallack was a working dairy farm. Whether you choose The Dairy, a traditional slate hung Cornish cottage or The Bullpen, a stylish barn conversion you will enjoy a restful break in luxurious surroundings.

Each has its own outside space but guests are also welcome to stroll in the beautiful gardens and find a seat to enjoy the views and the wildlife. After a busy day out exploring, have a picnic or barbecue by the lake in the evening sun. Or go for a country walk right from the door.

If you have bikes or surfboards, there is space to wash and store them under cover. And we hope you like animals as we have two dogs and a cat wandering around.

We are happy to make bookings for you, unpack shopping deliveries, arrange activities and help in any way to make your holiday a completely enjoyable experience.

Meet the owner

Vicky Goldby

Cornwall is a magical place most of which remains quite untouched. Each area of Cornwall is very different; from the rugged West to the sub-tropical Roseland there is something for everyone and we love sharing our favourite places with our guests. Benallack has a special atmosphere; perhaps it's the medieval chapel which was here many moons ago, the roman field patterns at the bottom of the garden, the nearby ancient woodland or the view from 'The Bench' (the perfect stroll from the house). Either way we think it's a special place. There are two cottages that we ourselves would love to stay in. Both are individually furnished and include super comfortable beds with crisp white linen, a woodburning stove, powerful showers, well equipped kitchens and an artistic and cosy ambience. We hope our guests agree!
