The accommodation is spacious, although very cosy. Parts of the Lodge date back to the 17th century with an original inglenook fireplace, woodburner and bread oven. The bedrooms consist of 2 double and 3 twin bedrooms all with deep pocket sprung Vi Spring mattresses. The garden is south facing with views of the Lake. It is a secure walled in area with garden gate and safe for young children.
Location: the property is located at the bottom of a private drive 200m from the village road. There is ample parking on the gravel area between the property and the Lake. Access to the front and rear of the property is level with a stone terraced area and no outside steps.
Entrance: the front porch has an area for boots and coats.
Hall: the entrance hallway is spacious with sofa and coffee table. The super fast WiFi router is located in this central area together with MP3 player and board games. The hall area is open plan to the kitchen and dining area.
Dining: the kitchen and open plan dining area is spacious and a perfect place to entertain and enjoy family gatherings. The Neptune fitted kitchen is well equipped and has a modern high level double oven with grill. Appliances include dishwasher, fridge and separate freezer, electric hob, Nespresso coffee machine and 4 slice toaster together with all useful cooking utensils. There is matching crockery, wine glasses, tumblers, etc. to cater for 10 persons. The black granite surfaces are ideal for preparing and serving food.
The oak dining table in the adjoining area seats up to 10 comfortably. There is a woodburner and the soft lighting creates a cosy relaxed environment. The dining room also leads through to the ground floor bedroom.
Ground floor accommodation:
Downstairs bedroom with en suite: the ground floor twin bedroom with en suite shower wet room and WC is located off the dining area and has its own level access to the garden and terrace at the rear of the property. The twin beds are very comfortable with deluxe Vi Spring mattresses. Quality Egyptian linen and bath towels are provided. The bedroom has ample wardrobe space, a flat screen TV and table lamps beside the beds. This room has underfloor heating and is suited to those wishing to avoid stairs. The en suite wetroom has shower, heated towel rail and hand basin with lever taps. A shower chair is available. Rated M3a standard with VisitEngland.
Living area: to the right of the main front entrance is the sitting room with original features such as low beams and doorways. Original inglenook fireplace with woodburner. It is a very effective method of heating which compliments the central heating. All logs and kindling are provided. There are 3 large sofas and quality soft furnishings and flat screen TV.
Utility: for laundry, a washing machine and tumble dryer are located in the Utility room which is accessed via the garden terrace. A large tall fridge/freezer is also available for extra storage and is a perfect place to cool drinks and food for the barbecue and outside dining area.
Garden: for alfresco dining, the 6ft round table and 4 curved benches proves extremely popular to guests throughout the day and evening. The terrace can be a suntrap and a large 3m parasol is available for those who prefer shade. Herbs are planted and guests are encouraged to take trimmings of mint, sage and thyme when in season. The garden is a secure, peaceful area and sheltered by traditional farm buildings and woodland. It is a perfect place to unwind while watching the ducks and resident swans. The lawn area is large enough for children to play safely, however guests are welcome to walk the surrounding fields and meadows. The chalk streams are perfect for children paddling and playing poo sticks from the bridges. A charcoal barbecue is provided for guests to use.
