Luxury rural cottages near the Jurassic Coast


Situated at the end of a mile-long tree-lined drive these converted barns and their idyllic location never cease to amaze our guests. Total escape from the pressures of everyday life where you can enjoy being surrounded by beautiful countryside, woodland and wildlife throughout the seasons. Guests can walk/cycle from the door or absorb it all from the large secure gardens. There is access to 1000 acres of working farmland and the linking network of footpaths. The local area offers a wealth of attractions for all, which even our many repeat guests never seem to tire of. The stunning Jurassic coast with its walks/fossilising/sea fishing and lovely beaches is nearby along with an excellent selection of pubs/restaurants, National Trust properties and adult/family activities.

Little Dove: We have created a scaled down version of Dove House to comply with the Rule of Six. This includes 4 bedrooms of your choice within the house. It is a wonderful place for a smaller group. Guests enjoy the cosy sitting room, log fire, and all the fantastic private facilities. We hope we will see some new guests and some of our previous guests will take this opportunity to enjoy it as a smaller group over the coming months. We are allowing one well behaved dog during this period at Little Dove.

Dove House: Designed to appeal to large family/adult groups and all their varying needs; we have hosted every occasion possible in this spacious, comfortable property with its fabulous private heated pool and separate games room while maintaining the high standards our guests expect. Dove House has exclusive use of games room and Indoor pool.

Dove House and Swallows may be booked together to comfortably accommodate a total of 17 guests.

Swallows: Single storey, easy walking access and private from Dove House. Perfect for a family or one/two couples enjoying a break - bedrooms: double en suite, twin/double en suite. One small dog is allowed.

Meet the owner

Pippa James

Pippa James was born on the farm, she now lives on with her husband, Hugo, who also grew up farming locally. Part of a larger family estate, which they have farmed for many generations and feeling lucky enough to be in one of the most lovely places in the country to live, she has never felt any desire to be anywhere else in the long term. Sharing this hidden treasure with their guests gives them great pleasure.
