Luxury character Barn in Dovedale

Our 5 star Gold Award Grade II listed Ancestral Barn oozes charm and character. This luxury barn conversion has beamed ceilings and panelled walls, polished floors and richly coloured rugs. The splendid lounge has a glorious open range fireplace and antique furniture. Relax in front of the cosy fire, and enjoy the widescreen TV with On Demand channels and access to ultrafast broadband.

The fully equipped kitchen/dining room with locally made bespoke oak cupboards and granite worktop is perfect for cooking up a feast in style. There’s a separate utility room, with washer, dryer and hanging facility with ironing equipment.

Three bedrooms (one accessible for the mobile disabled downstairs) feature splendid canopy beds that are the very essence of comfort and luxury. All bedrooms enjoy high quality Egyptian cotton bedding and towels along with en suite bathrooms, two with showers, and the master bedroom has a roll top bath.

Outside you’ll find stunning views over the organic farm and down Halldale, and private parking for guests. Treat yourselves to the peace of this rural retreat in delightful countryside. Just walk, talk, relax, enjoy the fantastic scenery, and then return to laze around a roaring fire.

Meet the owner

Susan Franks

Church Farm has been a farm as far as we know since the 16th century and has been in our family for over 60 years. We took over the farmhouse and cottages about 10 years ago when we moved here with our daughter, our Red and White Irish Setter and our 3 cats. We love living in the countryside and take every opportunity to enjoy the walks from the door, the local country pubs and all that the Peak District has to offer. Over the years, we have gradually updated the interiors of the cottages, adding to the antique furnishings and giving them a more modern, cosy and luxurious feel, whilst maintaining all the character and charm of the Grade II listed buildings. We feel it is a real privilege to be living in such a wonderful area and love welcoming our guests so can they share it with us.
