The Winery is an enormous detached barn that is perfect for large house parties, family 'get-together', birthday parties and anniversaries. In the Spring of 2020 a huge extension was addedd to The Winery, creating a huge amount of additional living sapce for large groups. Now groups of up to 34 can sit together inside or out, can dine together inside or out, and both the top and bottom terraces have fabulous views over rolling countryside. There is even a bar.
It has ten en suite bedrooms – four super king doubles and six bedrooms with zip and link beds that can be 3' twins or super king doubles, depending upon guest requirements. All bedrooms are carpeted and have underfloor heating throughout.
It was formerly an apple winery and is a unique, enormous and lavishly appointed barn. The entire building has underfloor heating and is double-glazed throughout, making it warm in winter, with the slate floors keeping it cool in summer. The main fully equipped kitchen is supported by a ulility room, with additional ovens, fridges, freezer and storage space, plus an industrial fast wash dish and glass washer. The main kitchen has a 120cm range cooker, large fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, six slot Dualit toasters and plentiful supplies of glasses, crockery, cutlery and pans for a large group. There is a bar and we even supply champagne ice buckets!
The oak dining table can seat twenty with ease and can be extended to seat up to 34 when the other barns are booked in conjunction with the Winery. The large kitchen/dining room is perfect for house parties with the second kitchen making it ideal for outside catering. We can provide details of caterers who will come and cook for you.
There is a private garden, which is not overlooked, with a wonderful view of the unspoilt valley below. Ample contemporary furniture is provided to sit outside and in the warmer months a large gas Weber barbecue is available. (Clean and ready for use with tools and gas included). There is an indoor games room, open all year round with a full size Jacques table tennis table and table football, and in summer an outdoor heated pool. EV Charging is available onsite.
The large sitting room has huge sliding doors that open above the terrace and offer a wonderful aspect of Southleigh valley. There are plenty of squashy sofas to relax into and a woodburner (logs from our own fallen trees, eco-firelighters, kindling and matches all provided). We can also provide cots (not bed linen), high chairs (two types) and stairgates and up to two put up beds for children. There are two additional cloakrooms, one with a reclaimed prison door and all the rooms feature fairly eclectic artwork. The main floor, which is at ground level for the main entrances, has the sitting room, four en suite bedrooms, and a kitchen, the upper floor has five en suite bedrooms, and the lower ground floor the enormous kitchen diner and an en suite bedroom, all with doors opening onto the terrace. The floors are accessed via locally crafted wide spiral staircases.
We are within easy reach of Waitrose, Sainsbury’s and Tesco and many good local food shops, and can also accept Waitrose, Tesco and Sainsbury’s deliveries if required. We provide a digital Touch Stay guide to local restaurants, where to buy local food, local takeaways and all local information.
