Exceptional interior and external space

Jack's Barn is the biggest of the three cottages at Lilycombe. Before its conversion to a luxury holiday cottage in 2018, it was home to Jack, a shire horse. Jack would not recognise the exceptional comfort and style of the new interior. Its 5 double bedrooms can be made up as king-size doubles or as twin beds. Two of the bedrooms are on the ground floor, with level access and their own wet rooms.

Upstairs is a bedroom with a large shower room, two further bedrooms and a family bathroom. There is plenty of space for adding cots. The large sitting room has a woodburning fire and a smart TV for winter evenings in. The kitchen has a big fridge and a separate freezer, with lots of storage space. There's a large induction hob, fan oven and multi-function oven for those who want to cook seriously - or you can book a chef. The dining table can seat up to 22 people, useful if your friends have booked the other cottages.

Lilycombe Farm has a fabulous indoor heated swimming pool, 15 metres long for proper exercise, but fun for children too. A simple booking system means that each of the three cottages can reserve private swimming time for their exclusive use. The projector lets you watch MTV or your DVDs while swimming. There is a Treatment Room for parties who have booked a bit of pampering.

Lilycombe's cinema has a large screen projector for which you can download your favourite movies from Netflix. There are toys and games for young children too, providing some staying-in entertainment if it rains. Jack’s Barn has its own garden and parking, with a large terrace for al fresco moments. A barbecue is provided. There is lots of space to explore.

Lilycombe Farm is in a lovely rural location within the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You can make circular walks, some involving pubs, through lovely country, straight from your door. Wells, with Waitrose, Tesco and, more notably, a stunning cathedral, is ten minutes away. Bath, an international tourist destination best avoided on Saturdays, is 30 minutes. Somerset has lots to explore, so there is no excuse for being bored. Check for further details on our website.

The traditional stone farm buildings at Lilycombe Farm have been carefully restored by owners Jane and Richard Clayton, ensuring that their essential Mendip character has not been lost. Jane and Richard have an interior design business and their design skills are reflected in the quality of the interior furnishings within the properties. They live in the farmhouse, which is not far from the three cottages, but each property is private and self-contained.
