LEICESTERSHIRE
Leicestershire is home to many fabulous attractions – from museums and galleries to well-preserved historic sights and sporting giants, the city has something to offer everyone. The city is probably most famous for the discovery of the body of King Richard III, the last of the Plantagenet kings, who was not so long ago reburied in Leicester Cathedral. The city borders Nottinghamshire to the north, Lincolnshire to the north-east, Rutland to the east, Northamptonshire to the south-east, Warwickshire to the south-west, Staffordshire to the west, and Derbyshire to the north-west.
Things to do in Leicestershire
Leicestershire offers plenty to see and do for families and couples and for all interests whatever the weather, from indoor ski slopes and ten-pin bowling, to soft play parks and theatres. There is also the Museum of Science and Technology, displaying Leicester's industrial, technological and scientific heritage. Couples will enjoy shopping in Leicester Market, watching street musicians at the Clock Tower, and spending sunny afternoons watching the canal boats go past Foxton Locks.
