New luxury lodge with stunning views

A wonderful 5 Star Gold Awarded three bedroom retreat, sat on its own with views across open Shropshire countryside. Built with comfort and style in mind, Barn Owl View has open plan living and an enclosed garden.

Floor to ceiling doors allows the outside to be brought in, perfect for guests that need to enjoy a relaxing time in the country. Then you can step out from the lounge onto the terrace to soak in the fresh air and green surroundings.

The interior designed home has tastefully dressed bedrooms that are all en suite. Beds can either be super king or twin bedrooms. The kitchen is fully integrated with a dishwasher and American style fridge freezer.

Barn Owl View is perfect for guests who have accessibility requirements, it has been awarded Visit England M3A, so suitable for wheelchair users and less mobile guests. Tastefully included in the kitchen are electrically operated height-adjusted hob, work top and wall units and there are many more features throughout the lodge. One en suite bedroom is accessibility-friendly and all rooms can be either twin or super king-size bed.

Our onsite Spa facility has an indoor swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, gym and treatment room. The spa facilities include a 12 metre indoor swimming pool – where you can enjoy a leisurely swim, whilst watching the bird life through the large full length windows. Next to the pool is a Jacuzzi – wonderful for unwinding, amongst the hot bubbles, – whilst the peaceful haven of the sauna and steam room will help cleanse the body and relax the mind. If you simply fancy a lie down or half hour with a book, there is poolside ergonomic designed seating, designed for ultimate relaxation. Treat yourself to a therapeutic massage, by our very experienced on-site Thai massage therapist. The Spa is tropically heated throughout the year with underfloor heating providing plenty of warmth, whilst towels, robes and slippers are provided for your comfort too.

Barn Owl View is a dog welcome cottage and has an enclosed lawned garden with maps and dog hamper provided. The local pub is dog friendly and walkable. There's loads to do in the local area, we have comprehensive information on our Guest App on places to visit, great eateries and days out. A link to the App will be sent to you once a booking has been made. We are also baby-friendly and can provide a cot, high chair and plenty of other equipment for the duration of your stay.

Meet the owner

Rachel and Gerry Mee

Welcome to Burlton Cottages which is owned and managed by husband and wife team Rachel and Gerry. We moved to Shropshire over ten years a go and converted our traditional farm outbuildings into three modern holiday cottages. Since then we have built a beautiful Indoor swimming pool, Spa and have developed an outdoor sport space. More recently we have designed and opened our accessibility friendly sleep 6 lodge. We both work on our arable farm too, which we are passionate about, we are Regenerative Farmers which means we use a variety of sustainable agricultural techiniques to protect our soils and environment. Gerry was originally farming in Essex, Rachel had a career in marketing in Cheshire, we had a spell in Northamptonshire and Perthshire, but finally settled with our two children in Shropshire. We warmly welcome guests to Burlton Cottages, we live on site and have pleasure in sharing our rural surroundings with you. We are very proud of achieving the West Midlands Best Self Catering Award in 2020 and are finalists for 2024 too! Thank you for taking the time to read about us and we hope to welcome you here soon.
