LUXURY HOLIDAY COTTAGES IN THE PEAK DISTRICT, DERBYSHIRE, CHESHIRE & STAFFORDSHIRE

A million miles from your usual routine, but within easy reach for everyone. Cosy self-catering cottages and large country houses for family holidays. At the heart of it all, the Peak District National Park straddling Cheshire, Staffordshire and Derbyshire. Amid Britain's greatest natural wonders, its best loved attractions - Chatsworth, Alton Towers and Haddon Hall.

Cycle into the Peak District's stunning scenery on the Monsal Trail, into the Manifold Valley, on the Tissington Trail. Go sailing at Carsington Water, caving at Castleton, rock-climbing at The Roaches. Get walking in Dovedale, on Kinder Scout, along the Gritstone Trail and Stanage Edge, around the waters of Tittesworth, Rudyard and Ladybower, teeming with wildlife.

The National Trust manages vast swathes of the countryside as well as the historic estates of Lyme Park, Tatton Park, Sudbury Hall and Kedleston Hall. Delicious local produce - Bakewell pudding, oatcakes, cheese, real ales and spring waters - is abundant in the market towns of Leek, Bakewell, Buxton, Ashbourne and Matlock Bath, and in numerous farm shops and pretty villages. Buxton's annual music festivals and historic Opera House attract visitors from all over the world. Visit Denby Pottery and the famous Potteries outlets, right on the doorstep.

Been there, done that? How about a cable car ride to the Heights of Abraham, a penny ride round Crich Tramway Village, a visit to the Dambuster Museum, a day at Uttoxeter Races, an underground boat trip inside Speedwell Cavern?

Now that we’ve sold you on the delights of the Peak District, just pick your luxury cottage from our listings for a relaxing break.
