About & Contact

Luxury cottage opening into lovely walled garden

Opening directly into our beautiful walled garden, The Garden Cottage has an idyllic setting. The cottage has extensive open plan living and dining space, a fantastic kitchen area, the most delightful garden room, a ground floor en suite twin bedroom and a second large bedroom and bathroom on the first floor. There's also a spacious entrance hall, cloakroom, and a separate utility room.

We have redesigned this cottage to showcase our lovely garden, to be heated by an eco-friendly system and to be toasty warm and suitable for visitors of all ages. If stairs are a problem for one of your party, it is perfectly possible to enjoy all the luxury and comfort of this cottage on the ground floor. We are particularly proud of the underfloor heating, powered by heat sourced from an extensive system of pipes beneath our fields, and we have added a log burning stove, as we know all our visitors love the focus of a real fire. We know our visitors will love the roomy, high beamed kitchen area with its range cooker, American-style fridge/freezer, granite worktops and stylish units. The living and dining space is so well thought out - modern, but supremely comfortable. Furnishing the rooms with the utmost care and attention to every detail has given us so much pleasure.

Both generous bedrooms sleep two. We offer one super king with adjacent bathroom on the first floor. The twin en suite on the ground floor leads out onto the private patio area. Guests can enjoy Freeview TV in the living room and both bedrooms.

Our favourite spot though is the garden room, with its relaxed seating and fantastic garden views. Step outside onto the patio and you are surrounded by a lovely walled garden, a delightful spot for reading and relaxation. There is ample parking for two cars in the courtyard to the rear of the cottage.

Meet the owner

John, Angela and James Foster

Field House Farm at Heritage Escapes has been our family workplace and home now for six generations. We're glad to share our part of the countryside with you and feel sure you'll enjoy your experience of East Yorkshire. We're blessed by living in a lovely rural location, very close to the sea, and only a stone's throw from the spectacular scenery of Flamborough Head, Bempton Cliffs and Bridlington's miles of safe, sandy beaches. We live onsite, so we're around to give any help you might need or point you in the right direction to a holiday attraction or lesser known beauty spot. Our son, James joined us in 2015, with his young family and they live nearby. Fiona and her team of housekeepers couldn't be more loyal, hard-working and friendly. You'll see all of us going about our daily tasks and we're always on hand should you need us. We're still very much a working farm, now predominantly arable, with a few cows and chickens.
