Northumberland Cottages are the perfect location to explore this stunning part of the country. On the edge of the Northumberland National Park and Dark Skies the views of open countryside are simply breathtaking. There are three cottages within the grounds of the historic Breamish House. Whether you are looking to book a romantic getaway in the one bedroom Gardener's Cottage, or a special family gathering using all three properties, there is something to suit most needs. The facilities on the estate include a summer house, garden games, electric car charging point and picturesque locations to enjoy the views or listen to birdsong. You might even be lucky enough to see otters in the stream of deer grazing in the grounds. There is a secure cycle store room for those who wish to bring their own cycle. Or why not hire an electric bike to be brought to you? It is a fun way to explore the National Park from the lane that runs past the gate. All of the cottages are beautifully appointed with stylish and comfortable furniture. The kitchens have modern appliances and vintage crockery. The open plan living areas offer relaxed, sociable spaces with smart TVs, superfast broadband and a selection of board games for those who prefer traditional pastimes. Every bedroom has a super king bed and its own ensuite shower room or private bathroom. The rooms can be set with two single beds instead if that would suit you better. There is a shop, petrol station, antique centre, adventure playground, pub and café within easy walking distance in the village. There is also easy road access to the market town of Alnwick with its world famous castle, gardens, Lillidorei, Barter Books, independent shops, galleries and eateries. Beaches, Holy Island, golf courses, castles and steam railway are also easily reached by a short drive from the cottages. Whether you decide to explore the region, or relax in the cottage and grounds, there is always something to see or do, whatever the weather.
Fiona and Richard and their two sons moved to Breamish House in 2016. As soon as they visited the property they knew that the various courtyards and outbuildings were the perfect opportunity to create a luxury holiday location. The grounds were glorious with abundant trees, flowers and a picture perfect stream. The variety of wildlife was also apparent and the expansive views across open countryside to the Cheviot Hills sealed the deal. Even before they had completed the purchase they were in discussion to obtain planning permission to put their vision of luxury cottages in this setting in to action. Now with three superb cottages available, they thoroughly enjoy welcoming guests, many of whom fall in love with the location instantly, in much the same way as Fiona and Richard did on their first visit.
