Design Award Winning Eco Yorkshire Barn Conversion

Dale View our sophisticated eco ‘Grand Design’ barn is light and airy. Once inside you’ll instantly get the ‘Wow’ factor and know why it won the prestigious National Park Design Award. If it tickles your fancy to know your using geothermal heating and PV panels your in luck here too. 

Original cruck beams and stone features work seamlessly alongside green oak and stunning glazing. The generous sunny 25ft sitting room has French windows that lead straight onto your own private south facing gardens. Spacious and tranquil with uncluttered, tasteful interiors including John Cullen lighting and Bo Concept Sofas, a cosy woodburning stove and a 55in wall mounted Smart TV making for the perfect Netflx moment. Stairs lead to a fabulous green oak gallery with views across the dale, just right for quiet contemplation, wine, a good book or the chance to enjoy our great selection of board games. 

The big family farmhouse kitchen just begs for an opportunity to entertain, so well equipped with all the essentials and more. Gather round the antique elm dining table to make plans or reflect on the day just gone. A generous utility room will help keep you organised throughout your stay.

Not many bedrooms have an original sandstone pillar at the foot of the bed, Dale View does, supporting an ancient beam and joists. Meanwhile the Master bedroom sports a 12ft internal window that looks across the sittingroom to the gallery - an amazing sight.  Next consider a long hot bubbly soak in a huge Victorian double roll top bath or maybe take a rainfall shower, Dale View wet room even offers disco lighting! And so to bed. Brass bedsteads made in England by the Cornish Bed Company, Designer Guild bedding atop a deep luxury mattress, the finest Yorkshire air and you’ll have the best of sleeps possible! 

Outside are two adjoining private south facing walled gardens each has uninterrupted views across Danby Dale. Here you'll find a covered alfresco patio and BBQ area, herbs to pick, clothes line, a willow wigwam and pretty chairs and tables to organise a coffee break or tea party.  Dale View has an exclusive picnic hideaway up the field near the bluebell wood with even more stunning views to the Heather Moorland beyond.

All this is in the heart of the North York Moors National Park simply stunning. Great walks straight from the doorstep. Whitby, Robin Hood's Bay and Staithes on Yorkshire's heritage coast nearby. Danny and Liz welcome you to Crag House Farm, a grade ll listed sandstone Yorkshire Longhouse and barns set within 25 acres in the North York Moors National Park. For 30 years Crag House Farm has been home to our family of 4 boys and on occasions the ‘extended family’ of ponies, pigs, calves, lambs, chickens, turkeys and ducks - A bit of the Good Life. When the boys left home the barn conversions were a great project to fill that empty nest syndrome! Listed buildings in a National Park with bats was a challenge and kept Liz busy! Our family now boasts 6 grandchildren the latest baby Nightingale was born in December. Horses still figure largely in our lives and so you are very likely to meet some if you holiday here! Danny and I live across the green in the farmhouse, on hand to help or recommend if requested.
