Luxurious house in idyllic and tranquil situation

Monnington House (12) is a real gem and situated down a tranquil lane at the end of a No Through Road is this beautiful farmhouse surrounded by a huge garden and acres of cider orchards beyond.

There is plenty of space for everyone! The garden is enormous and the playing field is gigantic. In the outbuildings there is rustic table tennis and a games room with pool table and table football. Bring your trainers and fleece and wrap up. You will not be bored!

From the doorstep you can take a number of walking trails. The Wye Valley Walk runs through Monnington on Wye. You can head down towards the river or hike up towards the hills. Bulmers Angling Club which welcomes everyone has a beat on the River Wye which is within walking distance from the house. Guests in the summer enjoy body boarding on the Wye and during the late autumn we have seen an increase in wild swimming. Guests who stayed with us in October went Llama trekking and loved the experience.

The Red Lion at Bredwardine is about an hours walk away. It is a beautiful walk. During the summer months the pub serves food. The Stagg at Titley and the Kiilpeck Inn near Hereford are fantastic gastro pubs and about 20 minutes by car. Oakchurch the farm shop is only 1.8 miles from the house and well worth a visit. We have an authorised caterer who works in the house often. She will make your stay even better.

Nearby you can hire a canoe and spend hours pottering on the Wye. A visit to Hay on Wye is popular and includes a browse in the book shops, a snoop in the antiques shops. Cinema goers will enjoy a view in Richard Booths cinema in Hay on Way. Young and old enjoy a trip to the Rare Breeds Farm at Kington and marvel at their collection of miniature, rare and friendly creatures. The National Trust Weir Gardens are 4 miles from the house and have a wonderful garden built on the bank of the Wye. The Mappa Mundi in Hereford Cathedral attracts historians and map lovers.

This is a great property for anyone who wishes to be very comfortable. There is plenty to do on site and nearby too. Memories are made here.

I manage and run Monnington House and the Cider Mill. My husband was brought up in the house. I used to run a National Lettings Department throughout London and the South West. I have 2 children who are now grown up and live in London but do visit regularly. When I am not busy with the House and Cider Mill I love cooking, being in my garden and growing flowers and vegetable, walking my 3 black Labradors who I have bred and being with my friends.
