Close to the picturesque village of Ravenstonedale, The Green Cumbria is perfectly positioned withing the outstanding Westmorland Dales, part of the The Yorkshire Dales National Park, in Cumbria. Inspired by nature and country luxury, The Green is the ideal base from which to explore the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and Eden Valley. A truly special place for family and friends to share, at the foot of the Howgill Fells.
The Green Cumbria comprises three fully self-contained cottages, each with its own entrance, parking and private outdoor space - but with plenty of room to gather, relax and retreat.
Shared and sociable space
The Haystore and the Byre are connected internally by an interconnecting door, making them ideal for groups who want to socialise and share meals while still having their own accommodation. The Haystore has indoor dining space for up to 14 guests, and the Byre can seat up to 10. The Haystore mezzanine is equipped for games, with a TV you can plug your own console into, and a table for board or card games. The Byre is home to our 'Secret Cinema', a retractable 100" projector screen rolls down for use with the 4K projector - perfect for movie nights.
Private and quieter space
The Carthouse has its own private entrance, making it a good option for anyone in the group who would appreciate a bit of privacy away from the main shared spaces. It also benefits from a larger private garden with outdoor seating, as well as both indoor and outdoor dining areas.
Bedrooms and flexibility
All bedrooms across the cottages can be arranged as either twins or super king beds to suit your group’s needs, and each cottage includes a luxury welcome pack on arrival. An additional single bed can be made up in the Carthouse on request.
Outdoor areas
In addition to each cottage’s private outdoor space, guests are welcome to use the shared riverside garden area, which includes a barbecue, fire pit and picnic benches. This is a lovely spot for alfresco dining, relaxing, bird and red squirrel watching, and enjoying the tranquillity of the setting.

Nestled at the foot of the unspoiled Howgill Fells, The Green Cumbria offers the perfect base to step straight out of the door and onto scenic walks across rolling hills, riverside paths, and peaceful countryside. Ravenstonedale village, just a short 20-30 minute stroll away along a quiet lane, has two excellent pubs, a golf course, and charming local trails, making it ideal for relaxed exploration. The cottages also provide a perfect base for discovering the wider Yorkshire Dales or taking a short drive to the Lake District, combining effortless countryside access with opportunities for adventure and memorable days out.
