Daphne Du Maurier described Trelowarren as 'a jewel in the palm of your hand'. The mile-long meandering drive brings you in past a long row of evergreen Holm oaks that emerge from an ancient Cornish 'hedge'. The estate was mentioned in the Domesday Book and the Vyvyan family has been in resident at Trelowarren for over six centuries. Each of our houses and cottages has been graded 5* Gold by the National Tourist Board. All with woodburning stoves, two bathrooms, individual gardens, offering luxury open plan living accommodation for you, your family and friends.

The estate consists of approximately 1,000 acres. Trelowarren House is a grade one listed building and is over 500 years old. The Eco houses are heated centrally by a vast bio-mass boiler fed by Trelowarren timber. The estate is a wonderful mix of woodland, historic landscape and farmland, an idyillic spot away from roads, a place to explore the great outdoors.

Our self-catering cottages are all designed with sustainability in mind and dotted through the estate allowing everyone to enjoy the peaceful tranquility surrounded by trees and parkland. The Great Office has been converted into 4 superior cottages with enclosed gardens and terraces. Both 2 and 3 bedroom houses close to all the facilities.

Traditional Farm Cottages have been modernised to the highest standards whilst keeping the period charm and original character. Set a 10 minute stroll from the swimming pool and Stable Yard, the cottages successful blend the character of the old with the comfort of the modern world. The New Ecological Houses are wonderful light, airy houses with lots of space inside and out.

Come and swim in the heated outdoor pool, surrounded by olive trees in the south facing, sheltered Walled Garden. Play a game of tennis on the all weather court or work out in the gym overlooking the pool and walled garden.

Situated in the historic stable yard the award-winning New Yard Restaurant is open for dinner. The Pantry offers coffee, cakes, and freshly baked pastries during the day with wood-fired pizzas and small plates from midday. The Lizard Art Gallery is also situated in the courtyard and is open from April to October.

The lush south coast is close by, the Helford River minutes away, the whole Lizard wrapped around Trelowarren and Penzance a short drive. Adults and children are burdened by choice; this is a paradise for those who love Cornwall. The Lizard is a wonderful place to stay. It is a hidden corner of Cornwall that means that even in the height of the summer, you won't be meeting hoards of people on the beaches, or in Trelowarren.

A 15 minutes drive from Trelowarren you will find a wide choice of different beaches. You can find one sheltered from the wind, with sand for sandcastles, with rock pools for investigating, with streams for damming ... and more. We are surrounded by lovely gardens to visit at all times of the year. From March with the camellias, bluebells in May, through to the Autumn splendor with all of the hydrangeas, you will find native and exotic planting all around South West Cornwall.

Museums and places of interest include the Maritime Museum in Falmouth, various tin mines with trips underground and the Eden Project are well worth a visit. We also have a wealth of food and drink specialists all welcoming you to visit. These include the Chocolate Factory, Cornish Wines and Ciders, Real Cornish Ales, and much more.
